It's almost the end of the semester with final exams lurking around the corner. The last minutes test, assignments and projects seems to burdening us even more. With the news of the birth of my internship supervisor's son just about a week ago brings back memories of me and Syahid's internship period in PCSB Miri last semester.
I still remember how worried my parents were when i first told them that i was going alone. the only girl from my batch and even from Peninsular Malaysia. Syahid have not get the offer yet and he was considering to take up the offer from Intel Penang.
i had to search for the house to rent in the internet. luckily the miricommunity.net comes in handy. i suggest this website to the next batch of the internship students who were coming to Miri as well. i got some contact numbers and the feedbacks were good from the tenants but i had one problem which was that i had no housemate. since that the standard rental price of a fully-furnished house in Miri is about RM500 monthly, i realized that i could not afford it living alone plus i was not familiar with the area. i had no relatives or friends there. luckily, the currently undergoing internship student was a great help to me. Kak Ayuni had been my acquaintance back in UTP when i always bought the textbooks and notes from her.
When Syahid finally got the offer and accept it, my parents was relieved thinking that someone accountable can look after me.(^-^)
When we arrived at the Miri airport, Kak Ayuni fetched us and she sent Syahid first to the house he rented with a group of seniors from UTP. i was brought to the office to meet one of the staff because i was going to stay at their house temporarily until i can find my own housemate.
The experience was great actually, that i finally survived 8 months there considering some people who doubted my survivability there. haha...there are more stories once we were there but it will be a long story to tell.
